INSTRUCTIONS FOR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

 

 

  1. Please fill out the attached form Application.  This will be the judges' first impression of you so give it your full attention and your best effort.  Please TYPE or PRINT.

  2. Turn in the application on or before noon September 26, 2008 at the high school counselor's office.  Applications will be picked up at NOON on Friday, September 26, 2008.  No application will be accepted after the deadline.  Applications may also be mailed to the Chamber address listed below prior to this date.  REMEMBER THIS DEADLINE DATE --- SEPTEMBER 26, 2008!!!

  3. All candidates must attend the judging event on Sunday, October 5, 2008 at 1:00pm at the QUAKER HEIGHTS CARE COMMUNITY in the community room.  Please enter the building from Edwards Road.  The judges will take this opportunity to chat with you on a personal basis in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.  Interview will be between 5 and 8 minutes.

  4. All candidates will gather at the Waynesville Area Chamber of Commerce, 10B North Main Street, on Saturday October 11th at 11:00am.

  5. After gathering at the Chamber office, all candidates will appear on stage at the Festival for the awards ceremony.

  6. After the awards presentation, the winners will remain throughout the Festival performing various duties.

  7. Please mark these dates on your calendar NOW - to avoid any conflicts.

 

During the week before the judging, someone from the Scholarship Contest Committee will contact each candidate by phone.  In the meantime, if you have any questions, please feel free to call us.

We are all a product of our experiences, and we can guarantee you that win or lose, this will be a rewarding experience for you!  Please don't hesitate to participate, if chose, you will receive a generous scholarship toward your college education.
